The purpose of this assignment was to redesign an experience for a specific individual, such as a friend, family member or colleague. In my case, I wanted to improve the habits of my younger sister, who has a poor diet, doesn't clean up well, and neglects her summer school tasks. To address this, I created a mobile app called "4 Kids" that uses a reward system to motivate her to change her behaviors. People are more likely to support change when there is a reward involved, and this app not only helps to rethink habits but also teaches the value of saving money. The diagrams below illustrate the problem and offer suggestions to help my sister and other children her age adopt better habits for a brighter future.
Critical Learning
Children are often uninspired by
school related task.
Good grade are important but kids need to be creative and interested in their daily lives.
When rewarded for accomplishment
they are inspired to continue.
Ideation
After establishing my objective, the next step was to ideate potential solutions for common problems. I conducted extensive research, had a brief discussion with my younger sister to understand why she engages in certain behaviors, and identified her interests. Using this information, I came up with multiple concepts to address the issue. My goal for this app is to help children develop good habits and benefit from them. Rewards are important to motivate us to repeat our actions, and this app will incorporate that as well.

Design Concepts
Once the research phase was completed, the next step was to start sketching the prototype concept. To begin with, I analyzed similar existing apps for this solution and came across an app called goHenry. I used its layout as a reference while creating my concept. I aimed to design an interface that was user-friendly, visually appealing, and easy to understand.
PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT
After testing it on my sister did she indeed understood what its purpose was, the navigation was easy for her to understand. Children are very use to electronics so it was surprising how well she understood it.
Daily Task
The Daily Tasks feature helps parents create assignments for their children, promoting organization and completion of important tasks.
Saving Matters
The app limits a child's spending based on the number of items saved. This motivates kids by allowing them to purchase toys or other items, keeping them inspired to continue their efforts.
Encourage
Giving a gift to a child is a great way to show your support. You can use a feature called 'gift' to send them some money. Rewards are important for kids to keep them motivated and help them become responsible adults.
